Alan Glassberg, MD, is a member of Bay City Capital's Scientific Advisory Board and a Venture Partner. Until recently, Dr. Glassberg served as Health Sciences Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, and as Associate Director for Clinical Care at the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center. He was formerly the Director of Hematology and Oncology at the Mt. Zion Medical Center in San Francisco. Dr. Glassberg was also Head of General Oncology at UCSF and interim Clinical Director of the Cancer Center. He is member of the Clinical Advisory Board of Poniard Pharmaceuticals, and previously served on the Board of Directors. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Biogen Idec, and was until recently a member of the Board of Directors of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Dr. Glassberg received his MD at the Medical University of South Carolina. He subsequently completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Pennsylvania, a fellowship in Hematology, and was Chief Resident in Medicine.
