Michael Masterson is a Vice President at Bay City Capital. His primary responsibilities include sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities and helping enable portfolio companies to achieve their business objectives. Mr. Masterson rejoined Bay City Capital in 2008 from Nevro Corporation, a Bay City Capital portfolio company that he co-founded in 2006. At Nevro, Mr. Masterson was responsible for establishing and managing the company's financial and operational activities and was actively involved in raising a total of $27 million from six venture investors. Prior to co-founding Nevro, Mr. Masterson was first an Analyst and then an Associate at Bay City Capital. In addition to assessing investment opportunities, he also worked closely with a number of portfolio companies on business strategy, potential partnerships, and exit opportunities. He assisted in the successful outcome of Syntonix Pharmaceuticals, which was acquired by Biogen, and in the formation and financing of VIA Pharmaceuticals. Mr. Masterson received an AB with honors from Harvard University.
