Raymond Tabibiazar, MD, a Venture Partner with Bay City Capital, is the founder and former Chief Scientific Officer of Aviir, a venture-backed diagnostic company in the Bay Area. Previously he was the Vice President of Translational Research of VIA Pharmaceuticals, which he co-founded and where he continues to serve as a scientific advisor. Dr. Tabibiazar is a board certified Clinical Cardiologist and an adjunct clinical instructor in medicine. He completed his medical training at Harvard University, followed by an Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular fellowship at Stanford University. He has authored several peer reviewed papers on genomics and proteomics of atherosclerosis, ischemia, coronary disease, and heart failure.
