Quest Diagnostics Acquires Pathway Diagnostics to Expand Biomarker and Oncology Testing

Cleveland, OH and Malibu, CA -- Quest Diagnostics is pleased to announce the acquisition of Pathway Diagnostics, a specialized provider of biomarker assay development, validation, and testing services, located in Malibu, CA. Pathway Diagnostics, a CAP and CLIA-certified laboratory, offers a broad portfolio of customized biomarkers, companion diagnostics, and proprietary assays with concentration in infectious diseases, cardio-respiratory, central nervous system and tissue-based oncology testing.
The acquisition of Pathway Diagnostics provides Quest Diagnostics with an extensive biomarker offering, supported by a global network of standardized clinical trials central laboratories. The combined capabilities of Nichols Institute including Specialty Laboratories, and now Pathway Diagnostics, further strengthens Quest Diagnostics Clinical Trials’ position as a world leader in biomarker services.
Quest Diagnostics’ test menu will expand in the areas of immunoassay development, anatomic pathology, flow cytometry, circulating tumor cell analyses, and molecular genetic assays. Pathway’s expertise in cytokine multiplexing, HIV testing, and immunohistochemistry will enhance Quest Diagnostics’ capabilities to partner with Pharma to develop novel companion diagnostics.
