Phenomix Files Registration Statement for Proposed Initial Public Offering

San Diego, CA -- Phenomix Corporation announced today that the company has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission relating to a proposed initial public offering of its common stock. All shares of the common stock to be sold in the offering will be offered by Phenomix.

Morgan Stanley & Co. Incorporated and Credit Suisse (USA) LLC will serve as joint book-running managers for the offering, for which Oppenheimer & Co. and Pacific Growth Equities, LLC are acting as co-managers.
